Allocations
 

Prior to February 2024, Federation had operated since 2019 on a status quo basis. Given the challenges for all agencies of the pandemic, a decision was made to set aside the established allocations process temporarily and continue with allocations to Federation’s major beneficiaries on a continuing basis. Last year, we completed our strategic plan, which informed a mandate for the allocations committee to be guided by. Six months ago, we stood up the committee, and began to reframe and restructure our process. The first and most significant iteration was our development and deployment of a grant application process for our major local beneficiaries. This was successfully accomplished in May and June 2024. The next steps will be to increasingly deploy our short form grant application for additional local beneficiary agencies. 
 

Assisting beneficiary agencies in fulfilling their stated goals is a key deliverable this year for our committee. Additional steps will be to increasingly deploy our short form grant application for additional local beneficiary agencies. We also look to bring the community together by taking care of each other - whether through grants or through rolling up our sleeves and getting involved in the nuts and bolts of helping the vulnerable. The final step will be to reevaluate our overseas beneficiary agencies in Israel, with an aim to increase the proportion of campaign dollars deployed there, and determine a potential new focus for our community’s investment.
