Holocaust Remembrance and Education

Federation continues to be among the Rockland Holocaust Museum and Center for Tolerance and Education’s most significant funders. Leveraging its new space post-pandemic, the Museum hosts tens of thousands of students from local and regional parochial and public schools. More than two dozen local Holocaust survivors participate in the Museum’s educational programming. The experience of the Holocaust is a starting point for discussion, dialogue, and educating against hate.

As antisemitic incidents increase across the country and here in Rockland, the Federation is working even more closely with the Holocaust Museum as an integral, central element of our strategy to confront antisemitism and helping to build diversity, tolerance and respect within and beyond the community. This includes regular consultation, joint programming, and cooperative work with local school districts, as well as advocacy to New York State in advancing its Holocaust education mandate.
